Google Introduces New Sliding AdSense Ads
Google continues to test and introduce new ways to make their AdSense ads more profitable and useful. Their latest innovation is sliding ads. I first spotted it on a client's website. It was active on a banner ad (468x60) and displayed left and right buttons for cycling (sliding) through ads. The video below shows what the new ad display looks like and how it works.

John, this is interesting. What do you think the results will be for ads outside the viewable space?

Lower I suppose. I think this is just a strategy to capture the CTR in any way possible and to further engage the user – assuming they're interested in engaging that type of ad.

I agree, and I'm conflicted as to how successful this will be. If I were an ad buyer, I'd demand a much lower price which really drives down the cost of an ad per CPM. But then maybe they figure if someone is willing to pay for not being seen but by those exploring ads then they are willing to charge.
