When I was 14 years old I decided to become a high school English teacher. I never formally gave up that career path, but as things often happen, life took many unexpected turns and my first job was with a web development firm. Fifteen years later, I merged my first love -- teaching -- with a deep skill set, Internet marketing. I am now one of two Authorized AdWords Seminar Leaders for Google, teaching advertisers how to use, understand and profit from the advertising platform.
When I am not traveling, I manage web development and PPC for select clients. In my spare time I do pro bono work for Feminist.com.
I've managed Web development projects, email marketing campaigns and search engine marketing (SEM) projects for clients including Osram Sylvania,Harvard Business School Executive Education, Cannondale, Air Jamaica, the National Federation of Independent Business, Psychiatric Services and TravelCenters of America. After managing hundreds of projects, large and small, I've learned that Web technology projects are collaborative efforts dependent on strong working relationships between marketing and IT departments. I understand both, and bridge the gap between marketing goals and technology best practices and limitations.
Before joining Sitening, I managed the Web department for a custom publishing company. While there, I became a Google qualified advertising professional and used a variety of email marketing software, including MyEmma and ExactTarget. I've designed and implemented custom content management systems and worked with out-of-the box enterprise solutions. Before moving to Nashville I worked for Boston.com and Lara Consulting Group, a Boston-area Web development agency.
